Thirteen Chicago Booth students spent seven wonderful days in Tanzania over the
2008 spring break. They visited the Tumaini Center in Arusha, which
is a vocational training school for disadvantaged students where they
worked on creating a plan for improving the inventory management for
their bikes. Several Chicago Booth students generously donated gifts and cash
which were given to the students at the Tumaini Center. The group then
proceeded to visit the ICTR (International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda).
The trip included speaking to several local leaders to learn about
the current issues Tanzania is facing. The trip ended with a two day
safari at the Ngorongoro crater and a visit to the legendary Kilamanjaro
mountain. Please click
